Evangelical pastor Rick Warren’s got a new purpose in life: to raise $900K by the first of the year for his struggling church.
Warren, the author of the best-selling book ‘The Purpose-Driven Life’ and pastor at Saddleback Church, needs the money to fill a giant hole in the church’s budget resulting from significantly lower donations, the Associated Press reported.
Warren wrote an urgent letter to his parishioners asking for the money.
“Dear Saddleback Family, THIS IS AN URGENT LETTER,” he wrote. “With 10 percent of our church family out of work due to the recession, our expenses in caring for our community in 2009 rose dramatically while our income stagnated.”
So what happened to send the mega-church “$900,000 in the red for the year”? Christmas donations took a nosedive.
“On the last weekend of 2009, our total offerings were less than half of what we normally receive,” he wrote in the letter.
“It’s basically having to do more with less,” church spokesman A. Larry Ross told the Associated Press. “The seasonal Christmas offering was down significantly and, commensurately, the need for services the church is expected to provide is up,” Ross said.
Services that need funding include the church’s food pantry, homeless ministry, counseling and support groups.
Digidesign the maker of Pro Tools and DAW Recording Products Loves the Saddleback Ministry and Warren Since They Purchased Expensive the Digidesign Icon and Venue Consoles in 2008. And recently weeks earlier, another Venue Console in November 2009, to “rock” worship and is geared towards people who like things a little bit more louder and punchy.
Its amazing to see how through the Bush recession that is still ongoing how megachurches are spending money on big ticket items not understanding that when the economy and the employment suffers it causes the funds to drop significantly in numbers.

Brother DK,
I didn’t see a way to email you directly so I’ll use this comment form. Have you seen the latest video that has everyone believing Sheryl Brady brought a baby out of a comad by prayer?
It’s all over the internet. I have to admit, when I first watched it, it took hold of my emotions as I saw this supposedly comatose baby awakening! However, as I saw the disorder in the church and the diamond encrusted hands of Sheryl Brady’s ministerial staff, I started becoming suspicious.
I left YOUTUBE and found this video all over Christian video sites that had nothing but positive reviews praising God for working through Sheryl Brady. Even Shady Brady said once they released this video, her ministry went through the roof with visitors and requests for her materials.
As a result, I too went to her website. SHE RECANTED THE WHOLE THING!! She and the mother try their best to mumble the baby was never in a coma but was coming out of a medically induced coma. The baby was already waking up and falling asleep like in Church. They recanted all of their miracle claims BECAUSE THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER BUSTED the whole thing wide open. So they tried to post a follow up video to cut its path off. THE PROBLEM… they never published their RECANTING video on YOUTUBE or anywhere else. They’re misleading masses.
They even paid the girl off with a car, furniture, a year’s rent, etc. because the baby isn’t healed and requires 24hour care. The baby is still on a feeding tube and still can’t lift her hed. At one point during the service the baby fell back asleep and the cameras quickly moved off the baby to the rioting congregation. HERE ARE THE LINKS, the first to her site where she has both videos. and the second to the local newspaper exposing it.

Hey Bro O. I’ll send you my email address. I usually keep it private in regards to all of the spam email that I usually get. I am familiar with Sheryl Brady. Ever since I moved up to Virginia from Baton Rouge 9 years ago, She was one of those East Coast pastors on the cult watchlist. Basically in simpler terms, she is another Paula White! I saw the video and took noticed as to how our Black Brothers and Sisters in her sanctuary acted like fools. Even one black sister who saw the video was emotionally tearstruck on her youtube page. I also noticed when I went to youtube, I happened to see this under the comments section.
Adding comments has been disabled for this video.
To me it seemed so much like a coverup. What I found out that was very interesting was the fact that they baby was in a medically induced coma. The Late Tupac Shakur after he was shot in the 1996 Vegas drive by, was also placed in a medically induced or “barbiturate” coma for surgery to remove bullets from his lung and chest. Tupac was placed into a drug induced coma after repeatedly trying to get out of the bed.
Its sad how a lot of people do not understand terminologies or how things work in the medical world. All it takes is for a person like Sheryl Brady to jump up and down and say “Hallelujah c’mon chuuch shout Gloaaarrry” and motion to the band to play the line dancing music. Have you noticed in the video with all of the blacks in her church how strangely ironic it reminds you so much of Bethany and the Stockstillians and their Stockstill Dumpling Gang? A predominately black populated church = more ignorant people throwing their monies away to Sheryl Brady and her Bishop hubby for vacations, trips, TBN VIP TV TIme…etc
The truth is that even the mother said that her daughter wasn’t healed and that she is still having to go through therapy and use a breathing tube. It was nice that the church paid for her rent and furniture for an apartment, however what about the mother’s career assistance and job placement. The New Testament Church was about the needs of helping the widows and the orphans who lacked or did not have. When I thought of Rick Warren and his ministries I wasn’t surprised either. I’m a musician and a recording producer and I purchase Digidesign Protools products and I’m always seeing on the news section for Digidesign’s website how Saddleback Church is constantly buying Digidesign products to “Rock The House of God”. I say this because the recording and live audio products aren’t cheap. In fact they are very expensive.
I’m working on another blog that should be up in a few more days. In the new one I will be talking about the late Dr. Vernon Johns, and how he faced the same adversities as you and I trying to reach our peoples and those stuck in the cults of religion.

Did you see “the prophet” Pat Robertson blamed Haiti’s poverty on their supposed pact with Satan? Despite the fact it’s mainly Christian. It’s crazy to suggest their freedom from oppression is based on Satan and not The Holy One. Doesn’t he see his version of christianity also is mixed with European paganism?

Hey Brother Michael,
Yes Pat Robertson once again has put his foot in his mouth by speaking against the Haitian people. Pat Robertson is one who never get enough to have the 15 mins of fame outside his CBN christian television world that he greedily desires since he knows he is like the Stockstill Klan, he can say anything and the public will rebuke him but his 700 club members will stand firm behind his craziness.
Another one of his media mafia buddies is Rush “Gluckman” Limbaugh. He is one who said not to send any money over to Haiti.
Its amazing how ministries and leaders always have a double standard for individuals and get away with so much under the noses of the very people who support their lies and dysfunctional views. These are the people who think in their hearts they are following the will of God.

It is good to know that the economy now is in good shape. There will more donation that will proceed to those in need of help.
