It was a year ago in November of 2008.  I remember sitting down at my fiancee’s house in Manassas, VA watching a televised documentary on the History Channel called Jonestown Paradise Lost, a documentary talking about former deceased cult Leader Rev. Jim Jones and his People’s Temple Congregation.  For those of you who do not remember or was too young to understand anything about Rev Jones and the People’s Temple I will take you down memory lane. (I also found a interesting video here @ youtube.  Jonestown Massacare Reel

Rev Jones was born and raised in Indiana, his father was in the Ku Klux Klan.  Jim’s childhood acquaintances recalled Jones as being a “really weird kid” who was “obsessed with religion … obsessed with death”, and claimed that he frequently held funerals for small animals, and had purportedly fatally stabbed a cat. Jim’s parents seperated in his life and he remained with his mother. He was a voracious reader as a child and studied Joseph StalinKarl MarxMahatma Gandhi and Adolf Hitler carefully, noting each of their strengths and weaknesses. Taking up Communism and attacking the leaders who stood against its evils.

The Rev Jim Jones

Jim Jones was the leader of the People's Temple cult in Jonestown, Guyana. He later ordered the mass suicide of his 913 followers. November 18, 1978

Jim and his wife Marceline got involved in church ministry in the 1950’s and eventually started a church Called the People’s Temple.  He used his ministry to help intergrated the Indiana churches and help the poor and blacks.  In the 1960’s due to the heightened Cold War and the threat of Nuclear war.  Jones begin to preach his Marxist Communistic Revolution views from the pulpit, and eventually moved the church family to California.  It was also during this time that Jim’s messages and lifestyle was getting sicker and crazier by the minute.  Jim’s healing services were phonies and fakes, cancers being removed were merely more than Chicken Gizzards propped to convince people that it was real when it was a hoax.  Jim also had several affairs and was showing homosexual tendencies towards congregational members.  Jim’s messages were on his self-glory and exalting himself as a God and higher diety saying that there was no God and that “he is God” and “you are Gods”.  He was referred to by Temple members as “Father” or ‘Dad”, something used by the late Father Divine.

In 1974 Jim decides he wants to move his ministry and people out to Guyana several miles from the Capital of Gerogetown, Jim called this place Jonestown.  It was a farming agriculture community, and the people seemed to love it.  It was also around this time that Jim’s addiction to prescription drugs was spiraling out of control.  Members were getting disgruntled and because of this they were punished either mentally or physically.  One of the members of the Temple Christine Miller who stood for truth and justice was trying to be intimated by Jim through the use of a firearm pointed directly at her or point blank at her head.  In the end it was Jim who would eventually back down.

1978 was a bad year for Jim and the People’s Temple.  Word had reached back to the United States of complaints of members wanting to leave Jonestown to return to the US for good.  Jim was not happy about this.  The US Government got involved into the concerns of the complaints and sent a delegation team lead by Congressmen Leo J. Ryan and Jackie Spier and the NBC News team to report and investigate on the situations at Jonestown.  Jim starts spooking out and is getting paranoid.  He refuses to allow anyone entry into Jonestown, and later allows the Congressmen and a few NBC cameramen in.  On the last day Congressmen Ryan put forth a call for anyone wishing to leave to join his group.  A fellow Temple member stabbed Ryan and the situation was ended peacefully.  ongressman Ryan and his people succeeded in taking with them fifteen People’s Temple members who had expressed a wish to leave.  At that time, Jones made no attempt to prevent their departure.

As the Congressmen and his delegation and the defectors from the Temple boarded the planes.  Several of Jim Jones’s members pulled up on a tractor-pulled trailer and began shooting at the delegation.  Congressmen Ryan, Don Ryan of NBC News and his cameraman died.  Along with Patricia Parks Ex-Temple Member.

Later on that day in Jonestown, Jones had one of his infamous “White Nite” drills.  This time it was not a drill, it was the real thing.  Jim informed the members about the Congressmen’s death, and the rejected asylum into Russia and that Given that reasoning, Jones and several members argued that the group should commit “revolutionary suicide” by drinking cyanide-laced grape flavored Flavor Aid (often misidentified as Kool-Aid) along with a sedative.  Remember that lady I was talking about Christine Miller, well she tries to talk some since into Jim’s head about living life and letting the innocent babies and children live.  Jim fires back and tells Miller and the people that “the best testimony we can make is to leave this goddamn world.”

When members apparently cried, Jones counseled “Stop this hysterics. This is not the way for people who are Socialists or Communists to die. No way for us to die. We must die with some dignity.”  Jones can be heard saying, “Don’t be afraid to die,” that death is “just stepping over into another plane” and that “[death is] a friend.” At the end of the tape, Jones concludes: “We didn’t commit suicide, we committed an act of revolutionary suicide protesting the conditions of an inhumane world.” According to escaping Temple members, children were given the drink first and families were told to lie down together.

Instead of drinking his poison, Jim like a coward shoots himself in the head.  All together

The facts of the Tragedy of Jonestown November 1978 Incident are

The thing that stuck out to me the most was how and the way that the innocent children were made to drink the poison by a squirting a syringe into their mouths.  When I think of those children, I think of those who could have grown up today in the present time to enjoy a good education, the joys of family and their own children.  But it was there in November 1978 that their lives were ended senselessly by a crazed, deranged cult leader.  Below are some of the passport photos of the Jonestown victims who lost their life on that day.

Fast forward to the 21st century.  We see how much history always comes back to bite us in the butts.  You have your ministries like Benny Hinn and the Larry Stockstills.  While some speak of overly giving and contributing to Capitalistic Campaign Drug Dealings, and fake healings and false prophesies.  All that adds up is one big NEGATIVE on your mind and soul.

Benny Hinn Pointing and making Evil Eyes at You!

Look at me fellow brother and sisters in Christ…Gawd has given his servant and mondate to take the gokspel into the world and if you don’t stroke out that check to TBN then FIYYYA is going to rain down on you!!!!!

As I look at the Blacks who get caught up in the megachurch cults throwing their kid’s and families funds away in these psychotic institutions.  I can see how much of a serious problem this has turned out to be

Hypocrites

Please Continue To Give $$$$ Our Kids Need More than yours!! Your Blessing Is Coming!! Ummm, oh yeah, THIS IS THE YEAR OF BREAKTHROUGH, have more faith. What's Larry's other one? Oh yeah, Your money is cursed, give more to "Reverse The Curse" http://www.yfrog.com/froggy.php?username=hippofloat

Black people and other minorities, its time for us to wake up and realize the dangers of these cults.  We need to:

  • Work on our own personal money management skills, stop supporting Capitalistic Campaigns and their lies and denials.
  • Work on establishing and maintaining healthy relationships with our families, spouses, and children.
  • Work on establishing future money management investments and skills to our children future generations.
  • Work on managing the educational fundings of our sons and daughters for college.
  • Work on managing and maintaining better black communities, and home environments.
  • Stop supporting so-called Christian televisions such as “INSP” and “TBN” with its entertainment and itching ear gospels of foolishness.
  • Stop giving away estates, deeds, and inherited properties and assets to people such as Hinn, and the Stocksteals.  It is these ministries who are trying to keep up with the Bill Gates’ (Notice I did not say the Joneses because they have surpassed them including the majority of you).
  • These televangelist have become the 21st Century Bernie Madoff , while trying to maintain their exempt status.

A rule of thumb is that, God said to prove him in his word by honoring him by your giving him “Tithes and Offerings”.  God expects only 10% or the tenth which is where the word tithe is derived from.  God never said anything in his word about Capital Campaigns nor $500 – $1,000 lines for your blessings, or TV evangelist scams.
